### Waste Heat: From Byproduct to Fuel for the Energy Transition

Sectors such as the cement, steel, and chemical industries generate enormous amounts of heat as a byproduct. Until now, this potential has often gone to waste, dissipating unused into the atmosphere. The efficiency of the underlying subsystems has already been analytically investigated in collaboration with the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). The calculations show promising efficiency levels: While the hydraulic system achieves a target efficiency of 68%, the “Tower” subsystem achieves values of up to 87% with optimized cycle times. As a result, ENERGY TOWERS achieve a system efficiency of 25% and offer up to 8,000 full-load hours per year.
