While Big Tech is investing hundreds of billions in AI, expansion is hitting a natural limit: the power grid. ENERGY TOWERS sees this as a historic opportunity for new, scalable energy sources.

Artificial intelligence is considered a growth engine for the global economy. Analysts are already saying that all future productivity growth—and thus also the development of the stock markets—will depend significantly on AI. But behind the boom lies a fundamental challenge: energy.
Data centers, GPUs, and digital infrastructure require enormous amounts of electricity. According to McKinsey, companies along the computing value chain will have to invest around $5.2 trillion in data centers by 2030 just to meet global AI demand. At the same time, four of the largest tech companies are planning to invest around $650 billion in AI infrastructure in 2026.
The problem: electricity has become a natural growth constraint.
While data centers with enormous capacities are being planned and built, the amount of available electricity is not growing at the same pace. Networks are partially outdated, grid connections are limited, and approval procedures are lengthy. Even financially strong corporations are reaching their infrastructural limits—in some cases, fossil fuel gas turbines are being used again to secure capacity in the short term.
“The crucial question is no longer whether to invest in AI,” says Zeki Akbayir, founder of ENERGY TOWERS. “The question is: Who can supply the energy that makes this growth possible in the first place?”
The bottleneck is not capital, but energy availability.
In an environment of structural energy shortages, those companies that:
- provide scalable power generation
- operate independently of weather conditions
- can be used to supplement or replace the grid
- create rapidly deployable capacity
One thing is clear for the coming months: without electricity, there can be no data centers. Without data centers, there can be no AI. Without AI, there can be no technological growth. Energy suppliers are therefore at the beginning of the entire AI infrastructure chain. The industry will suffer from massive bottlenecks in the coming years – now is the time to start thinking about new, sustainable solutions.
ENERGY TOWERS is developing a modular, weather-independent power generation system based on physical principles such as buoyancy and gravity. The goal is a scalable, decentralized, and base-load-capable energy source that can supply industry, microgrids, and, in the future, data centers. If you want AI, you have to rethink energy.
